I first encountered a Bärenreiter edition as a very young child when my horn teacher decided it was time for me to start work on the Mozart Horn Concerti. I vividly remember getting the complete, matching red set and feeling a sense of wonder for these great works. Since then, I have used the edition throughout my career and still, to this day, use the same copies of the Mozart Concerti when I prepare them for performance. For me, one of the wonderful things about the printed score is that as you travel and play these works, they pick up that history through the accumulation of markings, creases and everything else we put them through! Just this month, I will be playing my Bärenreiter editions of the Brahms Horn Trio and Mozart concerti in cities such as Jerusalem and Mumbai. Everything in a Bärenreiter edition is of the highest quality and all the essential details are meticulously taken care of.
