One of my fondest memories is the preparation of the new edition of Cavalli’s “La Calisto” for our famous production at Bayerische Staatsoper in 2005. A production that has since travelled to RoH Covent Garden and Teatro Real Madrid and is even being revived this year. Alvaro Torrente’s brilliant work was the spur for the decision to proceed with a complete Cavalli Operas Edition by Bärenreiter.

Another fine memory is a lunch meeting with a young Patrick Abrams in London in 1984 when I was planning the new Lufthansa Baroque Festival and we have remained in regular contact to this day.
